CastingHaus is a casting company. Most of what we collect comes from people who apply for a casting call, nominate someone for one, or get in touch with us. This page says what we collect, what we do with it, and how to ask us to change or delete it. Questions go to [email protected].

What we collect

Casting applications

When you apply on one of our casting pages (addresses ending in casting.haus), we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email, city and state, date of birth, occupation, social media handles, your answers to the questions on that call, and any photos or videos you upload or record. When you sign an agreement on the form, we keep the agreement text as it stood, your typed name, your drawn signature, the time, the type of device used, and a scrambled record of your internet address, so the signature can be verified later.

Nominations

Some calls let you nominate another person. We collect what you tell us about them (name, phone, email or social handle, and why you think they'd be a fit) and your own name and contact details. By sending a nomination you confirm you're 18 or older and who you say you are, and you agree we may reach out to the person you nominated. We tell nominees only what we need to, and we don't tell them who nominated them unless you say we can.

Forms you start but don't finish

If you start a casting form, enter your name, phone number or email, and don't submit it, we keep those details and may use them to contact you about that casting, for example to remind you to finish. We also keep any multiple-choice answers you've picked so far, but nothing you type in your other answers is kept until you submit. Each form tells you this next to the phone field.

Unfinished nominations. If you start nominating someone and leave before sending it, we keep the contact details you entered for yourself (your name, phone number and email) so we can follow up with you about finishing the nomination. We also keep the first name, phone number and email you entered for the person you were nominating, but we hold those details: our team doesn't see them and we don't use them to contact that person unless you complete and send the nomination. Unfinished nominations are deleted on the same schedule as unfinished applications, thirty days after the last activity.

Contact and enquiries

If you use the contact form on this site or email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply.

Collected automatically

Our casting pages set one first-party cookie so a form remembers where you are and so we can see how many people start and finish a call. We record the type of device, the page that sent you to us, and the time. We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on our casting pages, and we don't track you across other websites.

Public social media and other sources

As part of casting we may look at the public profiles you list on your application, and at other publicly available information about you, to get a fuller picture of who you are on camera. We don't buy data about you.

Health information

We only ask health-related questions when a specific project needs them, for example to plan filming safely, and only from people who have been shortlisted. We keep that information separate and share it only with the production for that project.

Please don't send

Social Security numbers, bank details, passport or licence scans, or criminal-history information through our forms or by email. If a project needs any of that, the production will ask for it through its own secure process.

How we use it

Who we share it with

The production company or client for the project you applied to, so they can take part in casting decisions. Authorities, if the law requires it. We never sell your information and we don't share it with advertisers.

Service providers who process information on our behalf, and may only use it to provide their service to us:

If CastingHaus is sold, merged or reorganised, your information may move to the new owner under this policy. Our systems are in the United States. If you apply from outside the US, your information is processed there.

How long we keep it

For the life of the casting and a reasonable period after, so we can come back to strong candidates for the next project. Signed agreements are kept for as long as they may be needed. Unfinished forms are deleted after thirty days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

Email [email protected] to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll confirm it's you before acting, usually by replying to the email or phone number on your application, and we'll answer within 45 days. Reply STOP to any text message to end texts.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to:

You can ask an authorised agent to make a request for you; we'll ask for proof they may act on your behalf.

Do Not Track

Our pages don't track you across other websites, so there's nothing for a browser's Do Not Track signal to switch off. We honour it anyway by doing nothing more when we see it.

Age

Our casting calls are for people 18 and older unless a call says otherwise, in which case a parent or guardian must complete the consent the form asks for. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has given us information without that consent, tell us and we'll remove it.

Security

No system is perfect, so we can't promise absolute security, but we take it seriously.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, where we can, let applicants know.
